Weekly Update

1:: We started officially giving her real food this week. So far she HATES sweet potatoes. She makes the funniest face when I give them to her. Which is so weird because I used to give her bites of mine while I was eating and she loved it. Maybe she doesn't like it now that it's blended up? She loves apple sauce. So I dip her sweet potatoes in the apple sauce and she'll eat it. Haha. 2:: She has become the WORST sleeper lately. The past week she has been waking up every two hours. And only napping 30 minutes at a time during the day. It is slowly killing me. 3:: She rolls everywhere. If I lay her on her playmat she will end up across the room. Her favorite place is halfway under the rocking chair. It's hilarious. Everytime. 4:: She's been so off lately. It makes me think she's teething but I can't feel any that are about to cut through. She's been a mama's girl lately, too. She'll always look for me and want me to hold her. 5:: I can't believe she's already 6 months. She's getting so big and smart. She's growing up right before my eyes.

Weekly Update

1:: We finally moved Olive up to size 3 diapers after one too many blow outs. 2:: She LOOOOVES her jumper. She will sit and jump and be so happy while I clean up or make dinner. And she almost always poops while she's in it, usually a blowout. : / 3:: She is getting so coordinated. She will grab things the first time and pass them hand to hand. 4:: We got her Cetaphil lotion and it seems to be helping a lot with her skin issues. 5:: I gave her a frozen breast milk popsicle and she loved it! She was sucking and chewing on it and kept squealing, which is her new thing. All of her laughs turn into a squeal/scream.

Weekly Update

1:: We started sleep training last weekend. It was not fun. Thursday night she cried for an hour and 15 minutes. I went in every 10 to let her know I was there. She slept amazing at night, only getting up once and sleeping in until 9:30. Friday night she cried for 45. Same thing she slept amazing. Saturday night she fell asleep in my arms before I could lay her down. She woke up twice. Sunday night she fell asleep in 4.5 minutes! It was awesome. When she is able to cry and fall asleep on her own she sleeps so much better. She is going down for naps pretty good too. I need to be better about having her ready to go to bed so she can get her self to sleep. If I wait too long she falls asleep while nursing. 2:: She has been pooping so good lately. She's had three blow outs in the past week and yesterday she pooped three times! Haha so gross but she's doing so much better. 3:: She has been trying to copy me when I make noises with my mouth. She also thinks it's hilarious and that's how I always know I can get her to laugh by smacking my lips together. 4:: We took family pictures outside and it was freezing. Olive didn't smile but she looked so cute in all of them. We knew it was time to go when she started turning blue. Oops. 5:: She is moving around so much. I laid her on her play mat and five minutes later she's half way across the room. Here we go...

Weekly Update

1:: Olive is doing pretty good sticking to a schedule lately. She will always always go down for a nap 2 hours after she wakes up in the morning. And she is always ready for bed at 8:00. The other afternoon naps are a little hard to nail down but that morning nap is set. And usually 1.5 hours. 2:: We went bowling on New Years Day. After a half hour Olive was ready for a nap. I wrapped her up and put my nursing cover over her and got her to sleep. She slept soundly the rest of the time. I was shocked. She won't stay asleep in my arms at church because the noise wakes her up but she will sleep in a super loud bowling alley?? 3:: We got called to teach sunbeams at church. It is almost impossible with a baby but Olive has been good. I have to leave sacrament each week to get her to nap in the mother's lounge with me so she will last the rest of the time. It isn't awesome but hopefully it gets better. 4:: She was getting these scratches on her hands and I couldn't figure out what it was from. It was only on her left hand, and so I cut her nails but that didn't help. I finally realized it was from the velcro on her swaddle when she tries to get her hands out. So I had to cover her hand with the extra piece of material. 5:: Her skin is SO dry. I have been using coconut oil, lotion, aquaphor and hydrocortisone every day and it is barely keeping it under control. I took her in and got her a prescription for 2.5% hydrocortisone and her pediatrician said to take zyrtec at night as well. So far it is helping a lot! I need to get her some cetaphil so I can stop doing the coconut oil. That is not fun to put on.
